The team of the Kyiv School of Energy Policy (KSEP) offers a unique course "English for Energy Markets". This course will help you improve your professional English. 

Professionals who know specialized English are always highly valued in the market. Also, by understanding the basic energy-related terms and concepts, you will be able to access the most up-to-date information about modern energy, which is available mainly in English.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate confirming completion of the course (the best participants will receive a certificate with honors).

Our classes will help you improve not only professional knowledge but also not technical or job-related skills, which can be advantageous to you in a variety of life situations. Hence, you will be able to:

  • overcome the language barrier,
  • communicate effectively in groups and pairs,
  • generate and present ideas in the format of presentations,
  • competently write and structure business emails,
  • learn the basics of quality information search and analysis,

    In the course, we use the communicative approach: 80% of the time in class you will interact with others to produce meaningful and real communication.

How long is the course?

The course lasts about 3 months.

Classes will be held two times a week, lasting one lesson - 2 hours. We determine the days and times of classes according to the group's request. 

Classes will be held in Zoom, educational materials will be available on the Google Classroom platform.

How much is the course?

12,000 UAH.

What is the uniqueness of the course? What does the price include?

  • it is the only course in Ukraine specialized in energy: you will not find any "Energy" English courses on the market,

Who will be a teacher?

Natalia Kirtland.

Experience: she has been working in the field of education and training for over 16 years. During this time, she conducted training within corporate training in various topics: energy services and production, alternative energy sources.

Certificates: In 2019, Natalia received a CELTA certificate (issued by the University of Cambridge, recognized in most countries and is often one of the mandatory requirements for a candidate for the position of English teacher). In 2018, she passed the TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test, an exam that confirms the pedagogical and language competencies of the teacher: teaching experience, lesson planning, learning process management).

    We will learn different types of energy, the necessary vocabulary and grammatical structures.

    After this module, you will understand how to use in the conversation Present Simple, adverbs of frequency (always, usually, often, sometimes, etc.), "there is/there are".

    You will be able to talk about regular activities (for example, you can tell colleagues about your habits or hobbies), as well as describe various actual circumstances and facts that are beyond doubt.

    We will talk about how electricity is produced in Ukraine, study the necessary vocabulary and grammatical structures.

    After this module, you will understand how to use in the conversation Present Continuous, possessive pronouns (my, yours, her, his, etc.), plural nouns.

    You will learn to describe the processes and actions that take place at the time of the conversation.

    We will talk about how energy consumption has evolved, go through the necessary vocabulary and grammatical structures.

    After this module, you will understand how to use in conversation Past Simple, modal verbs, "can/could".

    You will be able to tell others about events that have happened in the past.

    After this module, you will understand whether it is better to use Present Simple or Present Continuous in a conversation, use different types of questions.

    You will learn to talk about periodic actions, ask open and closed questions (which require a short and complete answer), give short (yes, of course/no, in any case), and complete answers (descriptive).
